The words of Baden Powell, the founder of the Scouting movement, have been inspiring us for decades. With the recent global health crisis, his words have become uniquely poignant and compelling. Venturing Crew 75, A Senior (14-20) Adventure Scouting program has been stepping up during these challenging times to do what it does best – serve youth and community.
While Covid-19 has forced many youth serving organizations to pause programming, Venturing Crew 75 has risen to the challenge and implemented programs serving local Scouts, including virtual camps, outdoor service opportunities, camping experiences, and treks that help keep our community and our youth physically and mentally healthy. Our Crew volunteers are dedicated to continuing the design and implementation of safe and creative High Adventure programs.
Unfortunately, like many businesses, the pandemic has had a substantial negative impact on our Unit. However, the fact remains, our community needs our Program now, more than ever. Giving Tuesday emphasizes opportunities to give back to communities and causes in safe ways that allow for social connection and kindness even while practicing physical distancing. This is your chance to help sustain the quality of Fuquay Varina’s High Adventure Scouting programs and to bring the values and mission to even more families in 2021.
Your gift will provide the invaluable programs and leadership training that influence Scouts like ours who placed two dozen flags on graves in a forgotten cemetery in Willow Springs or fallen soldiers going all the way back to the Revolutionary War. We have helped deliver several hundred pounds of food during a Food Drive.
